Drive, Battery-Electric

Drive type consisting of the assembly groups battery, electric motor, resistive switch circuit respectively impulse pilot and transmission. Drive system of industrial trucks where the conversion into kinetic energy is produced by an electric motor. The energy fed into the electric motor is delivered either from the battery that is integrated in the truck or directly from the mains network.

The advantages of the battery-electric drive are its flexible application, high degree of freedom because of the truck-integrated battery, its low-noise operation, and the fact that no contaminated exhaust gas is produced. Negotiable gradients and travel speeds are usually lower than for the combustion engine drive.
